Southern states Jazz, Blues & Countrymusic

14-day guided tour including guide and support vehicle

Guided motorcycle tour through the United States of America. New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga, Daytona Beach, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Smoky Mountains are just a few of the highlights of this jazz, blues, and country music tour.

Day 1 – Flight to New Orleans
Flight with a reputable scheduled airline from your chosen departure airport to New Orleans (connecting flights possible). Upon arrival, your guide will be waiting for you and will transfer you to a mid-range hotel in the French Quarter. The rest of the evening is at your leisure to explore Bourbon Street. Overnight in New Orleans.

Day 2 – New Orleans, the “Big Easy”
The day is at your leisure. In the morning, you can take a stroll through the French Quarter and to the French Market with your guide. This is combined with an optional paddlewheeler tour, where you'll enjoy a Southern fried lunch and music on the Mississippi. This is a good introduction to "Nawlins," as the locals call their New Orleans. The afternoon and evening are at your leisure. Pick up some of the unique spices and sauces to take home and visit the popular Bourbon Street again, which, with its countless live music offerings, offers something for every taste. Overnight in New Orleans.

Day 3 – Oak Alley Plantation – Natchez 315 km
Today it's time to say goodbye to Nawlins. Your luggage will be loaded into the escort vehicle, and you'll pick up your bikes. On the way out of town, you'll visit one of the unique cemeteries with the Hurricane Katrina Memorial, before cycling a short distance along River Road to the Oak Alley Plantation. There, you'll have an early lunch and, for an entrance fee, you can visit the long oak avenue, arguably the most photographed plantation mansion in the world. If you've seen the film "Interview with the Vampire," you'll already know it very well. The tour continues along the Mississippi and the bayous, past Baton Rouge, to your destination for today, Natchez. If time allows, you can visit Stanton Hall, a building dating back to the antebellum era; otherwise, it will be on the agenda for a group photo the next morning. This is a perfect example of a plantation owner's summer home. Natchez still has more than 200 such houses from the pre-American Civil War era. You'll experience the sunset on the river at JD's "Under the Hill Saloon" before heading to dinner and having the option of a casino visit. Overnight in Natchez.

Day 4 – Natchez Trace Parkway – Tupelo 445 km
Today you'll begin your journey along the first part of the more than 700 km long Natchez Trace Parkway, which settlers, Native Americans, and soldiers have followed for hundreds of years. Since 2005, it has been open all the way from Natchez to Nashville, but is closed to heavy traffic. Passing Jackson, you'll drive through deep forests and swamps. Along the way, you'll take a short walk through a cypress forest, where, with a little luck, you might even spot alligators. Today you'll spend the night in Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis Presley. If you arrive in time, you'll stop at the Tupelo Hardware Store. This is where the King of Rock 'n' Roll bought his first guitar. This is the place where the history of rock 'n' roll began.

Day 5 – Elvis Presley – Graceland – Memphis 240 km
In the morning, you'll first visit Elvis Presley's birthplace and memorial chapel in Tupelo. Around noon, you'll reach Memphis and Graceland – the mansion of the late rock 'n' roll idol. Here, you'll have the opportunity to take an interesting German-language audio tour. In the late afternoon, visit the Duck Parade at the Peabody Hotel and then, of course, visit Beale Street, the capital of the blues. BB King's and many other clubs invite you to enjoy the finest live music. Memphis is also known for its first-class barbecue restaurants. Overnight in Memphis.

Day 6 – Casey Jones – Nashville – Country Music 380 km
After experiencing jazz, Cajun, and blues music, today's theme is country music. You'll first visit the museum of legendary railroad hero Casey Jones in Jackson. From there, you'll encounter increasingly smaller side roads. Following the rolling hills of Mississippi and Tennessee, you'll rejoin the Natchez Trace Parkway. This is arguably the most beautiful section of this beautiful road and will give you a little practice cornering and a taste of what's to come in the next few days. In the evening, the hotel offers a paid shuttle to Broadway, with its countless bars and saloons, a must-do. The Wildhorse Saloon is the largest and has room for over 3,000 country music fans. Overnight stay in the Nashville area.

Day 7 – Jack Daniels – Lookaot Mountain – Chattanooga 280 km
Today's itinerary is deepest Tennessee. You'll visit the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, which ironically is located in a dry (alcohol-free) county. You'll spend your lunch break in this beautifully restored town, just as you've seen it in countless commercials. Afterwards, you'll continue on to the railroad town of Chattanooga, which, thanks to the Glenn Miller song "Chattanooga Choo Choo," needs no advertising. Before that, however, you'll visit Lookout Mountain. The winding scenic road takes you to the parking lot below the summit. Here you have the opportunity to visit Rock City, where a short hike through rock caves, narrow gorges, past a waterfall, and over a suspension bridge takes you to the lookout point. If the visibility is good, you'll be able to take in the views across seven US states. You'll spend the night in the Chattanooga area.

Day 8 – Cherohala Skyway – Deals Gap – the Tail of the Dragon 295 km
Today's itinerary certainly features the ultimate attraction for motorcyclists. After an increasingly challenging ride along the winding Cherohala Skyway, you'll reach "Deals Gap," or "the Dragon's Tail." The 17.6-km-long route has a total of 318 curves.
The hordes of motorcyclists attracted here speak for themselves. The same goes for the Tree of Shame, where the various motorcycle parts of those who have overdone it can be found. Be warned, the dragon bites and always catches the overly careless. You'll spend your lunch break here and can visit the shop. Feel free to check out the wall of pictures and get the ultimate proof, in the form of a small sticker for your helmet, that you did it too. Then it's the 11-mile descent down the mountain. In the afternoon, you'll drive along the Foothill Parkway at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains to your destination for today. You'll spend the night in the Townsend/Gatlinburg area.

Day 9 – Great Smoky Mountains – 3000 turns – Blue Ridge Parkway 310 km
In the morning, the winding roads continue. You'll cross the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and, with a bit of luck, you might spot one of the shy black bears that call this area home. You'll traverse the mountains over countless passes and bends and visit the Cherokee, the administrative headquarters of the Native American tribe of the same name. You'll spend your lunch break in Maggie Valley, home to Dale Walksler's unique motorcycle museum, "Wheels Through Time." The tour then continues along the world-famous Blue Ridge Parkway through North Carolina. After leaving the parkway, you'll cross American Transylvania and reach the Anderson area of South Carolina. By the end of the day, you'll have navigated more than 3,000 bends over the past two days. You'll spend the night in the Anderson area.

Day 10 – Southern Pearl – Savannah 360 km
Today, you'll set off early, traveling through the states of South Carolina and Georgia toward the Atlantic coast. Traveling along beautiful country roads, you'll arrive in Savannah shortly after lunch. Here, you'll have the opportunity to take an English-language trolley tour of the city. Movies such as "Gone with the Wind" and "Forrest Gump" were filmed here. Of the original 24 city parks, 23 remain today. You'll spend the evening in the historic district and directly on the riverfront. Overnight in Savannah.

Day 11 – Saint Augustine – Florida 350 km
In the morning, you'll leave Savannah and drive through the inland marshland toward the Sunshine State of Florida. You'll pass Brunswick and stop for a coffee break in St. Simon, on one of the golden islands off the coast. After crossing the border into Florida, you'll soon reach the Atlantic, which you'll follow until your lunch break. You'll then take a ferry across the bay to Jacksonville Beach. You'll reach today's final destination, St. Augustine, the oldest city in the USA, in the afternoon, and you'll still have time for a swim at the nearby beach. In the evening, you'll take a walking tour of the historic old town to get your bearings. Here you'll find the best hand-rolled cigars and souvenirs commemorating the Spanish explorers. Overnight stay in St. Augustine.

Day 12 – Daytona Beach – Orlando 190 km
You'll leave St. Augustine in the morning and follow the picturesque coastal road to the Daytona Beach area. Here, you can visit Destination Harley®, the world's largest Harley-Davidson® dealership. The final stretch of the tour takes you back to Orlando via Interstate 4, and you'll return your motorcycles to our local rental station around noon. In the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to visit one of the large outlet shopping malls. A shuttle is available locally. Overnight in Orlando.

Day 13 – Orlando – Theme Parks
Today you have the day at your leisure. You have the option of visiting one of the many theme parks, such as the Kennedy Space Center, Disney®, Seaworld®, or Universal Studios®. The hotel offers a shuttle service to some of the parks. Overnight in Orlando.
OUR TOUR TIP: Day trip by bus to the Space Coast to the interesting Kennedy Space Center or visit the Seaworld® amusement park.

Day 14 – Return flight to Europe
The morning is still at your leisure, and it's time to say goodbye. Later in the day, you'll be transferred by shuttle to the airport in Orlando and board your return flight to your chosen departure airport (connecting flights are possible).

Day 15 – Arrival in Europe
Arrival at your chosen departure point in the morning. End of the trip.
