This tour of 15 days through the Black Hills to Sturgis with the spectacular Harley meeting will leave you with incomparable impressions! You will experience grandiose natural phenomena such as geysers and huge herds of buffalo in Yellowstone National Park. A sound of thousands of moving Harleys echoing back through the mountains will transport you to the true feeling of the American way of life ...
Day 1 – Arrival in Las Vegas , arrival at the airport. Due to a time difference of 8 hours, it will be more of a short day for most people. Overnight stay in Las Vegas
Day 2 – Las Vegas – Flagstaff (approx. 268 miles/432 km) In the morning, you will pick up your bikes at the Harley rental station. After the formalities and a short briefing, we set off in the direction of Flagstaff. On the way there, you can make a first stop in the town of Seligman directly on Route 66. The "Main Street of America", as Route 66 is also called, leads directly through the town. You feel like you're on a journey through time – nostalgic, a bit kitschy and very endearing is this place. Decorations and figures from the good old days can be found everywhere. Continue to Flagstaff. Overnight in Flagstaff
Day 3 – Flagstaff – Bluff (approx. 303 miles/488 km) Early start in the morning – as you drive from the largest city in northern Arizona to a gigantic natural wonder: the Grand Canyon. The unique rock formations, created by the Colorado River, which continues to flow deep down in the Grand Canyon, captivate visitors every year. From the Grand Canyon we continue to the next highlight, the Monument Valley with its fantastic rock formations made of red sandstone, which has often served as a backdrop in famous films. In the evening you will reach Bluff, where you will spend the night.
Day 4 – Bluff – Durango (approx. 142 miles/229 km) Before you reach the distinctive town of Durango with its countless restaurants and historic gold rush saloons, you will stop in Mesa Verde National Park. The 210 sq km Mesa Verde National Park is the only national park in the USA that serves to preserve human culture. The ruins of the former inhabitants are therefore also the attraction of the park, less the nature and the trails. It is located on the high plateaus of southwestern Colorado, just off US-160 halfway between Cortez (about 1 hour's drive to headquarters) and Mancos, west of Durango. Overnight in Durango.
Day 5 – Durango – Leadville (approx. 259 miles/417 km) Today the tour takes you via Silverton to Leadville. Make a small stopover in Silverton and let the great atmosphere work its magic on you. Overnight in Leadville
Day 6 – Leadville – Cheyenne (approx. 247 miles/398 km) On the way is Loveland with one of the best shopping malls in the USA. It is definitely worth stopping here. If you have the time, you can take in the American past at one of the many antique markets. The drive continues through one of the oldest national parks in the United States. Helmets are not compulsory on the entire route - so if you want to cruise topless, no problem. Rocky Mountain National Park is an enormous area where the undeveloped wilderness of the Rocky Mountains is preserved. It covers 107,000 hectares with only a few roads, no hotels, motels, shops or commercial infrastructure. There are hundreds of miles of hiking and horseback riding trails and plenty of wilderness campsites, as well as 136 miles of nature-only campgrounds. The Rocky Mountains National Park was established on January 26, 1915 under President Woodrow Wilson. In the capital Cheyenne, you can get another look at life in the Old West at the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum. Here you'll find chronicles of one of the oldest rodeos in the world — Cheyenne Frontier Days — and the world's largest collection of horse-powered vehicles. The Wyoming State Museum offers historical exhibits on the state's eventful history. Located in the renovated warehouse, the Cheyenne Depot Museum shows how the railroad changed the city and its people. The Nelson Museum of the West exhibits authentic cowboy and Native American artifacts, among other things. Wyoming's diverse history is also on display in the State Capitol and the historic governor's house, the Governor's Mansion. Located south of Cheyenne, Terry Bison Ranch offers a range of activities, including trips to see its 3,200-animal bison herd, wagon rides, train rides, horseback riding, a full-service campground, and the Senator's Restaurant. Overnight in Cheyenne
Day 7 – Cheyenne- Deadwood/Lead (approx. 290 miles/467 km) South Dakota, Mount Rushmore State, is located in the heart of what was once the far west of America. Visitors are attracted by unusual landscapes and interesting history, Native American culture, off-road adventures and deep-rooted hospitality. South Dakota offers endless possibilities: exploring the mountains in pristine areas, wide lakes and dense forests. Five national parks, forests, monuments and memorials, as well as one of America's largest state parks, are located in the famous Black Hills of South Dakota. In the northeast corner of Wyoming you will find the first national monument, which was later admired in a movie. Devil's Tower was the landing site of the aliens in "The Uncanny Encounter of the Third Kind". The 364-meter-high tower is an unexplored magma plug of a volcano and a challenge for climbers, surrounded by extraordinary flora and fauna. If you prefer to see the tower from the ground, you can use the natural path that winds around the monolith. Other trails and roads in the backcountry lead you through the gently rolling Black Hills of Wyoming and South Dakota to the sacred ground of the Indians, which the explorers overran in their insane greed for gold. Overnight in Lead, Deadwood or Spearfish
Day 8 – Deadwood/Lead Spend the day in Lead or make a detour to Sturgis, Main Street and the Hall of Fame. Or a drive further to South Dakota's second largest city: Rapid City. There is the largest Harley dealer with numerous extra events. From Rapid City, you should then drive to Custer State Park to Mount Rushmore National Monument. Past the Crazy Horse, the winding Hwy 395 is a real treat! Overnight in Lead, Deadwood or Spearfish
Day 9 – Deadwood/Lead Drive to the Badlands, in southwestern South Dakota. This haunting and beautiful landscape of the national park rises mysteriously from the surrounding prairie. The Badlands are a geological wonder made up of a maze of individual steep mountains, canyons, and gullies created by erosion over many millions of years. In the evening, there are numerous concerts to choose from. Overnight in Lead ,Deadwood or Spearfish
Day 10 – Lead – Buffalo (approx. 183 miles/295 km) Today we drive to Buffalo. Rodeo is "the" sport in Wyoming. Overnight in Buffalo
Day 11 – Buffalo – Yellowstone National Park (approx. 277 miles/445 km) Through the Bighorn Montains you will drive one of the most winding routes with extreme inclines through the mountains on the Bighorn Scenic Byway to Yellowstone National Park. You will be stopped by bison, geysers, bubbling mud, small bears or moose. A pure nature experience! Your highlight is Old Faithful. Punctually to the minute, the geyser shoots up several times a day in front of the old traditional loghome. A must-see for any visitor to Yellowstone! Overnight in Yellowstone National Park.
Day 12 – Yellowstone – Jackson (approx. 109 miles/175 km) Stay in nature and drive through Grand Teton National Park to Jackson. This unique western town offers rodeo and the unforgettable Teton National Park almost daily in the summer evenings. You should definitely not miss the 'Million Dollar Bar' in the evening. In the evening, people meet in the cowboy bar 'Linedancer's. Within Grand Teton National Park, activities abound that leave nothing to be desired: climbing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing are just a few of the many activities here. The city of Jackson is just five miles from Grand Teton National Park. Jackson became famous for his elk antler arches framing the town square, wooden walkways, and the world-famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar with saddle bar stools. Wyoming – The Cowboy State is a place where cowboys and Indians still exist, where people wave as they pass by, and where the land is untouched, wild, and open. Wyoming — where there are more deer and antelope than people. The vast expanse of a sky that touches the horizon as far as the eye can see, and this idyll, interrupted only by wildlife, clouds and mountain ranges, are symbols of this state. The Indian name "in the great expanse", which the Delaware Indians gave to the region, goes without saying. Overnight in Jackson
