Guided tour – All prices include the flight from Frankfurt
Indian Summer New England & Niagara Falls
12 Days – Guided Tour
Join us on a classic motorcycle tour through the New England states in the northeastern USA, with a brief visit to Canada. The New England states, Boston, Bangor, a visit to OCC County Choppers, Cape Cod, Niagara Falls, Acadia National Park, and wild, untouched landscapes are the highlights. Experience a guided tour with one of our USA experts as your tour guide and the iconic motorcycle brand: Harley-Davidson®.
We've prepared a well-planned tour for you that includes a good number of miles of riding each day, while also making sure you have plenty of time to see the sights along the way. The motorcycles for our guided tours are mostly from the Harley-Davidson® authorized rental program. This gives us an excellent selection of the latest models with low mileage, all perfectly prepared for you. As an added bonus, the entire tour is accompanied by a van. This will transport your luggage during the tour, and depending on space, companions can also ride along – meaning pure motorcycling for you!
Day 1 – Flight to Boston
Flight with a reputable airline from Frankfurt to Boston (connecting flight possible). Upon arrival at Logan International Airport, your guide will be waiting for you and transfer you to a centrally located hotel. Overnight stay in the Boston area.
Day 2 – Boston – America's walking City – Plymouth 80 km
Today is yours to enjoy at your leisure. A short information meeting will take place in the morning. Afterward, you have the option of participating in a city tour of Boston. Boston is one of the oldest cities in the USA, and with its European flair and blend of historic buildings and skyscrapers, it's the perfect starting point for this tour. With "Ducktours," you'll explore the city by land and water in an authentically restored amphibious vehicle. Your local driver-guide will show you all the major sights. You'll have lunch at Quincy Market and can then explore the surrounding area on foot. In the afternoon, you'll pick up your motorcycles and receive a briefing from our local rental partner before riding to the historic town of Plymouth. Plymouth was founded in 1621 by the Pilgrims, who reached Cape Cod and the New World on the sailing ship "Mayflower." The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Take advantage of the many restaurants and cafes along the harbor for dinner. Overnight stay in Plymouth Harbor.
Day 3 – Cape Cod – Nantucket – Martha's Vineyard 350 km
In the morning, you'll leave Plymouth to begin your tour through the New England states. Your luggage will be packed into the support van. On the second day of your tour, a highlight awaits: you'll follow the coastal highway up to Cape Cod National Seashore. You'll have lunch in Provincetown before passing Hyannis and Falseporth on Nantuket Sound in the afternoon. Weather permitting, you'll have a beautiful view of Nantucket Island and Martha's Vineyard. Overnight accommodation will be in the Newport area, located in Rhode Island, the smallest US state.
Day 4 – Mystic Seaport – Massachusetts – Connecticut 300 km
Traveling along the coast, you'll reach the historic town of Mystic in Massachusetts in the morning. A visit to the Seaport Village Museum there is a must. Here, you'll be transported back to life on the American East Coast in the 17th century. The journey continues to Connecticut, home to the elite Yale University, which, as you know, regularly competes with Cambridge University in Boston. In the afternoon, you'll reach New York State and arrive at the Hudson River near Poughkeepsie. Overnight stay in the Poughkeepsie area.
Day 5 – Catskill Mountains – Amish Country 360 km
In the morning, you'll visit the Woodstock Harley-Davidson® dealership and ride through the picturesque Catskill Mountains. Here, the Indian Summer is already in full bloom, and the ride is, once again, a blast. You'll stop for a coffee break in Phoenicia, a town very popular with bikers. Near Downsville, you'll stop at an old wagon bridge spanning the Delaware River and take the opportunity for lunch. In the afternoon, you'll ride through a part of New York City, where you'll encounter traces of the Mennonite and Amish communities. Overnight stay in the Corning area.
Day 6 – New York State – Niagara Falls 250 km
Today's short drive takes you to another highlight. You'll reach Niagara Falls, located at the famous waterfalls of the same name, just in time for lunch. Your hotel is within walking distance of this impressive natural wonder. In the afternoon, you have the option of taking a boat tour on the "Maid of the Mist" below Niagara Falls. After dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, enjoy a stroll on the Canadian side with its stunning views of this illuminated natural spectacle. Overnight in Niagara Falls, USA.
Day 7 – Lake Ontario – Erie Canal – Utica 340 km
Those who wish can take another short walk to the falls early in the morning. You will leave the region in the morning along Lake Ontario, one of the largest lakes in the American-Canadian border region. You will then follow a section of the Erie Canal, which has connected the Hudson and Niagara Rivers over a distance of almost 600 km since 1825. In the early afternoon, you will reach the town of Utica, the gateway to the Adirondack Mountains. Overnight stay in Utica.
Day 8 – Adirondack Mountains – Vermont – New Hampshire 460 km
In the morning, you'll follow scenic, winding roads through Adirondack State Park and its mountainous landscapes. Here you'll find places like Lake Placid, the Winter Olympic town. In Champlain, you'll reach the Connecticut River, which forms the border with the state of New Hampshire. You'll have your lunch break in Bristol, in the Green Mountain region, before heading into the White Mountains in the afternoon. In the small town of Bath, you'll visit the oldest general store in the USA and have the opportunity to drive over an old covered wagon bridge. Time permitting, there will be a quick coffee stop at Polly's Pancake Parlor before you reach your overnight destination, Lincoln, in the heart of the White Mountains region, via the Franconia Notch.
Day 9 – White Mountains – Maine – Bangor 330 km
Today you'll continue your journey along beautiful winding roads through the White Mountains, enjoying the vibrant colors of autumn. Small country roads will take you back towards the coast, and you'll reach the state of Maine. Passing Maine's lake district, you'll arrive in Bangor, the former lumber capital of the USA in the 19th century. In the afternoon, you'll reach the gateway to Acadia National Park. Overnight stay in the Ellsworth/Trenton area.
Day 10 – Bar Harbor – Acadia National Park 360 km
Today's leg of the journey takes you further through the state of Maine. You'll reach the small fishing village of Bar Harbor this morning, marking the actual entrance to Acadia National Park. Forests ablaze with the vibrant colors of Indian Summer, rugged coastal cliffs, and dramatic landscapes alternate with mountain scenery and glacial lakes. With a bit of luck, you might spot bald eagles, harbor seals, or even the shy sea otters and beavers that inhabit this area. In the afternoon, you'll follow the US 1 highway, which leads all the way to Key West, Florida. Passing Belfast and Rock Harbor, you'll arrive in Newcastle, your overnight stop.
Day 11 – Portland – Cape Elizabeth – Hamptons – Boston 250 km
This morning, you'll follow Highway 1 along the East Coast to Portland, the birthplace of author Stephen King. From there, you'll visit Cape Elizabeth, home to one of the photogenic lighthouses typical of the East Coast. Lunch will be at a traditional lobster restaurant right on the coastal highway, in the Hamptons, the upscale residential area of this coastal region. In the afternoon, Salem is on the agenda. This town became famous and infamous for the witch trials and burnings of the 17th century. The journey continues along the Blue Star Memorial Highway back to the Boston area. There, you'll return the motorcycles to the local rental partner and be transferred to the airport hotel. Over dinner, you can reminisce about the tour and bring it to a close. Overnight in Boston/Airport Hotel.
