South Africa Motorcycle Tour Kruger: Join us on a classic motorcycle tour through one of the most beautiful parts of the African continent, South Africa. Highlights include Kruger National Park with safari, Blyde River Canyon, Swaziland, KwaZulu-Natal, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Santa Lucia, the Drakensberg Mountains, Lesotho, the Transkei, the Eastern and Western Cape, the Valley of Desolation, Route 62, the Winelands, Cape Town, and the Cape of Good Hope.

Day 1 – Flight to South Africa

Your Harley® adventure in South Africa begins this evening. After check-in, you'll depart from your chosen airport on an overnight flight with a reputable airline across the African continent to Johannesburg and then on to Nelspruit, near the famous Kruger National Park. (Connecting flight)

Day 2 – Arrival in South Africa

Im Laufe des Tages erfolgt die Ankunft in Nelspruit und Ihr werdet von unserer lokalen Agentur abgeholt, die Euch direkt zu einem zentral gelegenen Hotel in der Nähe des Kruger Nationalparkes bringt. Der Nachmittag und Abend steht Euch zum relaxen zur freien Verfügung. Übernachtung im Raum White River/Hazyview.

Day 03 – Kruger National Park

Am frühen Morgen macht Ihr Euch auf den Weg mit einem lokalen Guide in den Kruger Nationalpark. Dieser ist der Größte seiner Art in Südafrika und ist die Heimat von ca. 350.000 wilden Tieren und über 500 Vogelarten, welche auch viele endemische Arten inkludieren. Hier habt Ihr mit etwas Glück die Möglichkeit die BIG FIVE zu sehen, diese bestehen aus Elefant, Löwe, Büffel, Nashorn und Leopard. Berge, Buschland und tropische Wälder sind alles Bestandteile der Natur hier. Übernachtung im Raum White River/Hazyview.

Day 04 – Blyde River Canyon – Bourke's Luck Potholes Waterfalls

Der Blyde River Canyon ist eines der Highlights in Südafrika und die zweitgrösste Schlucht im Lande. Der rote Sandstein beherbergt auch wieder jede Menge Wildtiere, wie verschiedene Fischarten, Krokodile, Nilpferde und auch zahlreiche Affenarten. Weitere Highlights dieser Panorama Tour sind die Aussichtspunkte bei Bourke’s Luck Potholess und God´s Window. Nach der Rückkehr zum Hotel erfolgt das erste Treffen mit Euren Guides mit Tourbriefing und Euer Welcome Dinner. Übernachtung im Raum White River/Hazyview.

Day 5 – Motorcycle pick-up – Kingdom of Swaziland 280 km

In the morning, you'll be transferred to our local Harley-Davidson® rental partner, or you can pick up the bikes at your hotel. After completing the formalities, you'll take possession of your motorcycles. Today's route takes you to the northern border of the Kingdom of Swaziland, which lies like an island within South Africa. This small kingdom is known for its rugged landscape and traditional festivals that reflect Swazi culture. In the afternoon, you'll continue south to the capital city of Mbabane, your overnight accommodation in this region.

Tag 06 – Swaziland – Swazi Candles – St. Lucia 370 km

Heute geht es weiter durch den Süden des Swazilandes, weite Zuckerrohrplantagen begleiten Euch auf dem Weg. Hier werden auch die wunderschöne Swazi-Kerzen handgefertigt, diese dekorativen Einzelstücke, zeigen Tiere und afrikanische Kultur, welche Ihr bei einem Stopp in einer der kleinen Fabrikationen selbst bewundern könnt. Ihr verlasst Swaziland durch ein kleines Wildreservat und Südafrika erwartet Euch mit St. Lucia, einem UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Dieses einmalige Feuchtgebiet im Mündungsbereich zum Indischen Ozean beherbergt hunderte von Krokodilen, Nilpferden und Vogelarten.
 

Tag 07 – St. Lucia – Krokodile & Hippos
Heute steht Euch der Tag zur freien Verfügung, nutzt die Zeit zum relaxen oder zu einem Bad im Indischen Ozean, welcher unweit von Eurem Hotel liegt. Ihr habt hier heute die Möglichkeit am Morgen zu einer fakultativen Krokodil und Hippo Bootstour auf den St. Lucia Lake. Am Abend bietet sich eine fakultative Wildtier Safari zum Sonnenuntergang an, hier sind unter vielem anderen oft Nashörner und Hippos an Land zu sehen. Übernachtung in St. Lucia. Day 08 – KwaZulu-Natal – Drakensberg 460 km

After breakfast, the tour takes you to the KwaZulu-Natal province. Through unique landscapes dotted with small villages, endless sugarcane plantations, and forests, and along beautiful winding roads, you'll reach the foot of the Drakensberg Mountains, which rise to over 3,000 meters. Visible from afar, they offer a wealth of leisure activities. Excellent restaurants, wineries, and local products characterize the Natal Midlands. Overnight stay at Sani Pass, Drakensberg region.

Day 9 – Drakensberg – Rest day – Sani Pass & Kingdom of Lesotho

Der heutige Tag steht Euch als Ruhetag zur freien Verfügung. Das Hotel offeriert einen Pool, Spa und auch eine Runde Golf ist möglich. Für die Abenteuerlustigen unter Euch, gibt es die Möglichkeit an einer fakultativen 4×4 Allrad Tour in die Drakensberge teilzunehmen. Diese grenzen an das afrikanische Königreich Lesotho. Die Tour bringt Euch nahezu 1400 Höhenmeter nach oben auf 2876 Meter, wo Ihr die Grenze überschreitet und ein lokales Basutho Dorf besichtigen könnt. Den Lunch nimmt man natürlich im höchsten Pub von Südafrika in der Sani Mountain Lodge ein. Übernachtung am Sani Paa, Drakensberg Region.

Tag 10 – KwaZulu-Natal – Eastern Cape – Queenstown 520 km

Today's leg takes you through the highlands of KwaZulu-Natal, always along the Drakensberg Mountains, into the rolling hills of the Eastern Cape. Vast farmland alternates with small villages. This connecting stage leads you to Queenstown, a local center of the region. Overnight stay in Queenstown.

Day 11 – Klein Karoo – Graaff Reinet – Valley of Desolation 310 km

Today, your tour through the Klein Karoo region takes you to the next highlight: the old town of Graaff-Reinet. With over 200 listed buildings, it's one of the best-preserved historical sites in the country. The drive up the narrow, winding road into the Valley of Desolation is another highlight. Once you reach the viewpoint at the top, a short walk will reward you with a fantastic view of the valley and the Karoo. With a bit of luck, you might spot some of the numerous blue monkeys and antelopes along the way. After lunch at the hotel, you can relax by the pool or take a stroll through the town. Overnight stay in Graaff-Reinet.

Day 12 – Karoo – Oudtshorn – Ostrich farms – Braai 340 km

Eigentlich wäre Oudtshorn lediglich eine verschlafene Kleinstadt hinter den Bergen, wenn da nicht einige große Straußenfarmen wären. Die alte Blütezeit der Straußenfarmen ist mittlerweile vorbei, jedoch ist die Fleisch- und Lederproduktion wieder ertragreich geworden für die dortigen Züchter. Beim fakultativen Besuch einer dieser Farmen bekommt Ihr dort eine interessante Führung geboten und einen Einblick in die heutige Nutzung dieses einzigartigen Vogels. Zum Abendessen steht natürlich auch frisches Straußenfilet auf der Speisekarte, dieses gepaart mit einen der guten lokalen Weine und der Abend ist perfekt. Übernachtung im Raum Oudtshorn.

Day 13 – Route 62 – Port wine and whisky – Ronnie's Sex Shop – Diesel & Creme 335 km

Heute Morgen geht die Fahrt weiter über die berühmte Route 62. Vom Bekanntheitsgrad hier im Lande, ist diese mit der amerika nischen Route 66 zu vergleichen, nur ein bisschen kleiner, aber mindestens genauso reizvoll. Sie diente ursprünglich mal dazu, die Klein Karoo zu erschließen. Der erste Stopp ist das Boplaas Weingut mit seinen hervorragenden Portweinen und lokalen Whiskies. Ihr besucht unterwegs auf der Strecke natürlich die obli gatorischen Biker-Kneipen, wie Ronnys Sex Shop oder das Country Pumpkin in Barrydale. Die Besitzer sind natürlich auch alle begeis terte Harley®-Fahrer und freuen sich immer auf einen Biker-Besuch. Am Nachmittag geht die Fahrt durch die Täler um Montagu, die ganze Region ist bekannt für seine Trockenfrucht-Industrie und die unzähligen Obstplantagen am Wegesrand zeugen davon. Es s tehen noch drei schöne Pässe an, bevor Ihr Euer Hotel für Heute im Raum Touwsrivier erreicht.

Day 14 – Cape Winelands – the 7 Passes Tour 325 km

In the morning, you'll begin your journey with a scenic drive over the mountain passes of the Winelands. After a coffee break amidst the vineyards, you'll tackle the two winding Baviaanskloof and Du Toitskloof passes. Following lunch at a winery, you'll then take on the Franschhoek Pass. The Winelands, with its renowned towns like Robertson, Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch, are just an hour's drive from Cape Town. This region is home to some of the oldest European settlements on the African continent. The fertile area is particularly famous for its agricultural produce and, of course, its wine. After navigating several more challenging mountain passes, you'll reach the heart of the Winelands in the early evening. Overnight stay in the Stellenbosch area.

Day 15 – Cape of Good Hope – Chapman's Peak – Cape Town 160 km

Ihr verlasst Stellenbosch und die Weinregion. Von dort aus fahrt Ihr zurück an die Küste, wo Ihr bei Muizenberg wieder auf den Atlantik trefft. Entlang der Küste erreicht Ihr das Kap der Guten Hoffnung und den Cape Point. Weiter geht es über die berühmte Aussichtsstraße, dem Chapman’s Peak Drive, in das idyllische Hout Bay, welches bekannt ist für seine Seehund Kolonien und die dort jagenden weißen Haie, auf den vorgelagerten Inseln. Rechtzeitig zur Mittagspause erreicht ihr dann, über Camps Bay kommend, wieder Kapstadt, wo Ihr die letzten beiden Tage übernachten wer det. Nach Abgabe der Motorräder, steht Euch der Nachmittag und Abend zur freien Verfügung. Besucht eines der vielen Restaurants in der Victoria & Albert Waterfront. Übernachtung in Kapstadt.
UNSER TIPP: Sonnenuntergang auf dem Segel-Katamaran, mit anschließendem Abendessen in einem der guten Steak & Fisch restaurants von Kapstadt (wetterabhängig evtl. auch am Folgetag).

Day 16 – Free time in Cape Town

Jedes Abenteuer hat einmal ein Ende und leider bricht heute der letzte Tag in Kapstadt für Euch an. Der heutige Tag steht Euch zur freien Verfügung. Nach dem Frühstück könnt Ihr zu einer fakultativen Stadtrundfahrt mit Besuch des Tafelberges starten. Diese Bustour inkludiert alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten und Euer lokaler Guide zeigt Euch die Highlights. Wir empfehlen Euch den Besuch der Waterfront, der Long Street und den Greenmarket Square zum shoppen oder unternehmt eine der vor Ort angebotenen Helikopter Touren. Übernachtung in Kapstadt.

Day 17 – Return flight to Europe

The morning is yours to explore Cape Town at your leisure. Later in the day, you will be transferred to Cape Town Airport for your day or night flight with a reputable airline to your chosen departure point (connecting flights may be necessary).

Tag 17 / 18 – Ankunft in Europa
Ankunft an Eurem gewählten Abflugort am späten Abend oder im Laufe des nächsten Morgen und Ende der Reise.
