Day 2 – Arrival in South Africa

You will arrive in Nelspruit during the day and be met by our local agency, who will take you directly to a centrally located hotel near Kruger National Park. The afternoon and evening are free for you to relax. Overnight stay in the Hazyview area.

Day 03 – Kruger National Park

Early in the morning, you'll set off with a local guide to Kruger National Park. This is the largest national park in South Africa and home to approximately 350,000 wild animals and over 500 bird species, including many endemic ones. With a bit of luck, you'll have the chance to see the Big Five: elephant, lion, buffalo, rhinoceros, and leopard. Mountains, bushland, and tropical forests are all part of the natural landscape here. Overnight stay in the Hazyview area.

Day 04 – Blyde River Canyon – Bourke's Luck Potholes Waterfalls

The Blyde River Canyon is one of South Africa's highlights and the country's second largest canyon. The red sandstone is home to a wealth of wildlife, including various fish species, crocodiles, hippos, and numerous monkey species. Other highlights of this panoramic tour include the viewpoints at Bourke's Luck Potholes and God's Window. Upon returning to the hotel, you'll meet your guides for a tour briefing and enjoy a welcome dinner. Overnight stay in the Hazyview area.

Day 5 – Motorcycle pick-up – Kingdom of Swaziland 280 km

In the morning, you'll be transferred to our local Harley-Davidson® rental partner, or you can pick up the bikes at your hotel. After completing the formalities, you'll take possession of your motorcycles. Today's route takes you to the northern border of the Kingdom of Swaziland, which lies like an island within South Africa. This small kingdom is known for its rugged landscape and traditional festivals that reflect Swazi culture. In the afternoon, you'll continue south to the capital city of Mbabane, your overnight accommodation in this region.

Tag 06 – Swaziland – Swazi Candles – St. Lucia 370 km

Today you'll continue your journey through southern Swaziland, passing vast sugarcane plantations along the way. Here, the beautiful Swazi candles are handcrafted; these decorative, unique pieces depict animals and African culture, which you can admire for yourself during a stop at one of the small workshops. You'll leave Swaziland through a small game reserve, and South Africa awaits you with St. Lucia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique wetland at the mouth of the Indian Ocean is home to hundreds of crocodiles, hippos, and bird species.

Day 08 – KwaZulu-Natal – Drakensberg 460 km

After breakfast, the tour takes you to the KwaZulu-Natal province. Through unique landscapes dotted with small villages, endless sugarcane plantations, and forests, and along beautiful winding roads, you'll reach the foot of the Drakensberg Mountains, which rise to over 3,000 meters. Visible from afar, they offer a wealth of leisure activities. Excellent restaurants, wineries, and local products characterize the Natal Midlands. Overnight stay at Sani Pass, Drakensberg region.

Day 9 – Drakensberg – Rest day – Sani Pass & Kingdom of Lesotho

Today is yours to enjoy at your leisure. The hotel offers a pool, spa, and a round of golf is also possible. For the more adventurous among you, there's the option of participating in a 4x4 off-road tour into the Drakensberg Mountains. These mountains border the African kingdom of Lesotho. The tour takes you up nearly 1400 meters to an altitude of 2876 meters, where you'll cross the border and have the opportunity to visit a local Basutho village. Day 11 – Klein Karoo – Graaff Reinet – Valley of Desolation 310 km

Today, your tour through the Klein Karoo region takes you to the next highlight: the old town of Graaff-Reinet. With over 200 listed buildings, it's one of the best-preserved historical sites in the country. The drive up the narrow, winding road into the Valley of Desolation is another highlight. Once you reach the viewpoint at the top, a short walk will reward you with a fantastic view of the valley and the Karoo. With a bit of luck, you might spot some of the numerous blue monkeys and antelopes along the way. After lunch at the hotel, you can relax by the pool or take a stroll through the town. Overnight stay in Graaff-Reinet.

Day 12 – Karoo – Oudtshorn – Ostrich farms – Braai 340 km

Oudtshorn would be just another sleepy little town nestled in the mountains were it not for its numerous large ostrich farms. While the heyday of ostrich farming is over, meat and leather production has once again become profitable for local farmers. An optional visit to one of these farms offers an interesting guided tour and insights into the modern-day uses of this unique bird. Fresh ostrich fillet is, of course, on the menu for dinner, and paired with one of the excellent local wines, it makes for a perfect evening. Overnight stay in the Oudtshorn area.

Day 13 – Route 62 – Port wine and whisky – Ronnie's Sex Shop – Diesel & Creme 335 km

This morning the journey continues along the famous Route 62. Its popularity here is comparable to America's Route 66, only a bit shorter, but just as charming. It was originally built to open up the Klein Karoo. The first stop is the Boplaas Winery with its excellent port wines and local whiskies. Along the way, you'll naturally visit the obligatory biker bars, such as Ronnie's Sex Shop or Diesel & Creme. The owners are all enthusiastic Harley® riders and always welcome bikers. In the afternoon, three more beautiful mountain passes await, and you'll spend the night in the Touws River area, a region known for its dried fruit industry. After a coffee break amidst the vineyards, you'll tackle the two winding Baviaanskloof and Du Toitskloof passes. Following lunch at a winery, you'll then take on the Franschhoek Pass. The Winelands, with its renowned towns like Robertson, Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch, are just an hour's drive from Cape Town. This region is home to some of the oldest European settlements on the African continent. The fertile area is particularly famous for its agricultural produce and, of course, its wine. After navigating several more challenging mountain passes, you'll reach the heart of the Winelands in the early evening. Overnight stay in the Stellenbosch area.

Day 15 – Cape of Good Hope – Chapman's Peak – Cape Town 160 km

You leave Stellenbosch and the wine region. From there, you ride back to the coast, where you meet the Atlantic Ocean again at Muizenberg. Following the coastline, you reach the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. The journey continues along the famous scenic route, Chapman's Peak Drive, to the idyllic Hout Bay, known for its seal colonies and the great white sharks that hunt on the offshore islands. You arrive in Cape Town in time for lunch, where you will spend the last two nights. After returning the motorcycles, the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at your leisure. Perhaps visit one of the many restaurants at the Victoria & Albert Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town.

After breakfast, you can take an optional city tour, including a visit to Table Mountain. This bus tour covers all the major sights, and your local guide will show you the highlights.
