Here are some suggestions for tours through Florida during Bike Week:
Coming from Daytona over the Granada Bridge, the route heads north along Beach Street, passing the Halifax River, which offers breathtaking views of the water sparkling in the sun, with its many parks on either side of the trail. Once you reach Tomoka State Park, the route continues like a tunnel on very well-paved roads, passing under beautiful 2,000-year-old trees covered in Spanish moss. If you have some time, you can leave the trail and explore Bullow State Park. But be careful, these are called "dirty roads," and they certainly don't make driving easier. Or you can park your motorbike at one of the many lakes and watch the crab fishermen at work. Continuing north, the route suddenly turns right toward the Atlantic Ocean. From here, you can take a short detour to Flagler Beach. For 10 miles you can enjoy the view of the sea, so it doesn't matter that the salty air and stiff breeze make it difficult to see through your sunglasses.
At Finn's Tavern, one of the most fantastic places to linger, we head to the sunny side and enjoy a cold beer with a fantastic view of the region's miles of white beaches. Return on A1A to John Anderson Drive toward the starting point in Ormond Beach. If you still have some time before sunset, you can also visit the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse.
Another route is on State Road 40, heading straight for the first 80 km toward the east coast. Here, you'll find the warm springs of Alexander Springs. The water here is 21 degrees Celsius year-round, and swimming is said to have healing properties (don't forget your swimsuit). The journey could continue through the Ocala National Forest, one of the most beautiful in Florida.
A short tour to the south is also recommended, to Cape Canaveral National Seashore Park. Just before one of the numerous shipping bridges, there is an observation deck. Here, some of the rare manatees, Florida's symbol, frolic in the warm waters. It's very interesting to be able to observe these animals in their natural habitat. A little further on, there is a beautiful view of the rocket launch pads at Cape Canaveral. You can't get any closer than this, even from the visitor center. The whole experience is rounded off by the truly velvety-soft sandy beach that awaits you nearby. Experience the wildest parties in the most traditional saloons and the most important concerts by many bands.
