Day 1 – Arrival in Las Vegas, Casinos, Show & Nightlife
Welcome to Las Vegas, the birthplace of all gambling paradises. Even on the journey, you'll be captivated by the stunning sea of lights and gigantic illuminated displays of the city. Passing the famous casinos like the Luxor, Caesars Palace, Mirage, Treasure Island, and others, you'll drive along Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as the "Strip," to your hotel. In the evening, take a first stroll through the casinos of this glittering metropolis.
Day 2 – Las Vegas – Flagstaff – 246 miles along the old Route 66 – 395 km
You can pick up your motorcycle from the station from 9:00 a.m. Drive south along the Strip to your first stop, the Hoover Dam. At 221 meters, this is the second highest in the USA and, with its 175 km long reservoir, tames the Colorado River. Continue on US Highway 93 to Kingman. Then you can turn onto the "Mother Road", Old Route 66. In Seligman, you will not only find the true cult of the road, but also Angel Delgadillo, probably the most quaint R66 shop you can imagine. So, this is the best place to stock up on the coolest and most absurd things that the world doesn't need, but everyone wants. If you already gambled away your vacation money in the casinos yesterday, you can let yourself be enchanted by the "Get your Kick on the Road 66 Feeling" of the small town. You will see, time has stood still here. Then you drive at full speed towards Flagstaff. Overnight in Flagstaff or surrounding area.
Day 3 – Flagstaff – Sedona – Jerome – Flagstaff
Today you'll drive along one of the most beautiful routes in the USA, Scenic Road 89A, a winding route through magnificent canyons and valleys. At the end of the valley, the mighty red rocks of Sedona await you, which many people find magical. Passing through Red Rock State Park and Cottonwood, you'll reach the legendary mining town of Jerome, a small western town perched on Cleopatra Hill. Jerome is one of the few true hippie towns that has retained its charm from the 1970s to this day. This is probably because everything here is different from anywhere else. Spend the evening in one of the quaint saloons. Spend the night in Flagstaff or the surrounding area.
Day 4 – Flagstaff – Needles – 200 miles – 321 km
Back in northern Arizona, you'll drive once again today along the old Mother Road to Oatman, a famous mining town on Route 66. Time has stood still here since most people left after the gold boom in the early 1900s. Today, only 100-300 residents live here, along with many wild donkeys. They come to Oatman every day to beg for food, making them a major attraction for the many visitors.
A beautiful, secluded road leads you to the California border, where you can spend the night at one of the most iconic locations on Route 66, the Colorado River. Easy Rider was filmed here, and the occasional campfire will give you a real Wild West feeling!
Day 5 – Needles – Cave Creek – approx. 245 miles – 394 km
Today, we continue south through Arizona. Not far from Needles, you'll reach Lake Havasu with its famous London Bridge. Following the Colorado River, past Parker, you'll reach Wickenburg. This relatively small town captivates with its Mexican flair. The closer you get south, the hotter and drier the air and the landscape become. Just before Phoenix, the landscape changes again, and giant cacti suddenly sprout up on your left and right. A wonderful resort and a gentle breeze are your destination, before you perhaps head to the Hideaway Bar. This iconic saloon hosts up to 2,000 bikers from the Phoenix metropolis on weekends. Today, you're there!
Day 6 – Cave Creek, Apache Junction, Tuscon – Tombstone – approx. 250 miles – 402 km
On your way to the Wild West, not far from the Mexican border, the landscape becomes increasingly bizarre. Endless expanses, fenced in with gigantic cacti, adorn your tour to Doc Holiday and OK Coral, where the famous gunfight once took place. You can round off the evening at Bog Nose Kate's Saloon.
Day 7 – Tombstone – Bisbee – Chiricahua National Monument
On the way to Bisbee, the southernmost point of the tour, things won't just be hot on the highway. After a day exploring Tombstone, this historic western town, where one of the largest silver deposits in the USA was discovered in 1877, will shine brightly. The silver boom captivated thousands of prospectors, and the gambling halls, brothels, and bars that still exist today sprang up like mushrooms. Gunfights and western horse-and-buggy shows are a common sight here.
It's just a short ride to Bisbee, an old mining town, where you'll visit Jennifer's famous Airstream campground, the Shady Dell. Not only do the restored and polished campers evoke the good old days, but many short-term residents also live up to this cult status. The drive to Chiricahia National Monument is another highlight of the day. In the evening, reflect on all your impressions around a campfire.
Day 8 – Tombstone – Scottsdale approx. 270 miles on the road – 434 km
On the northward route to Scottsdale, your constant companions, the saguaro cacti, will be back in the magnificent and expansive landscape. You'll leave the cowboy feeling of the past few days behind you as you head to your next destination, Scottsdale/Phoenix. In Scottsdale, a sophisticated American suburb of Phoenix, you can relax and end the day.
Day 9 – Scottsdale – Prescott-Prescott
Today, you'll continue north through sprawling, winding mountain towns to Prescott. "Whiskey Row," a cluster of numerous historic saloons, is famous here. After a night of rocking, you'll continue on from this typical American small town, where you'll suddenly find yourself in your own dream, but no one knows what era it's from. When you see the clock on City Hall, you'll remember where that strange feeling of having been there before comes from!
Day 10 – Prescott – Las Vegas
Get on your bikes one last time and enjoy the vastness and lonely roads before diving back into the glittering world of Las Vegas in the afternoon. Overnight in Las Vegas.
Day 11 – Return flight from Las Vegas to Germany, goodbye Arizona…
