Best of Arizona
14 Days – Best of Arizona – The Grand Canyon State Motorcycle Tour
This 14-day motorcycle tour through Arizona takes you right into the heart of the American Southwest – via legendary Route66 stages, through endless deserts, past canyons, western towns and natural wonders that are among the most beautiful in the world. It is a journey for bikers who seek the vastness, feel freedom and want to experience history.
Day 1 – Arrival in Las Vegas
Welcome to the land of endless horizons. After landing in Las Vegas, you'll breathe in the dry desert climate for the first time – a moment that immediately makes you want to hit the road. The day is yours: maybe a stroll downtown, a trip to Fremont Street for live music, or just a cold beer at the Hogs and Heifers Saloon.
Day 2 – Experience Las Vegas
Today is time to explore Las Vegas: neon, sound, movement. A good steak in the evening, maybe a visit to the Sphere or a visit to the casino on the Strip – and you know: From tomorrow on, only the asphalt counts.
Day 3 – Las Vegas → Kingman 170 km / 105 mi
Today you take over your motorcycle. Whether it's the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic or the Street Glide, you'll get character on two wheels. The desert opens up behind the city, and the wind carries the smell of asphalt, dust and adventure. On wide highways you drive to Arizona, into the history of the Mother Road. Kingman is real Route66 territory: old diners, shiny chrome, honest faces and pure nostalgia. The perfect introduction to America's most famous street.
Day 4 – Kingman → Williams (via Oatman, Sitgreaves Pass, Seligman) 240 km / 149 mi
A day as American as possible. Over the Sitgreaves Pass we drive on narrow curves through old mine landscapes. In Oatman, wild donkeys run through the village – memories of the gold rush days. Continue towards Hackberry, a cult stop for all those who carry Route 66 in their hearts. In Seligman, the cradle of the modern '66 movement, time seems to have stood still. Finally, you will reach Williams – a western town that breathes history and is almost a film set with its evening charm.
Day 5 – Williams → Page (Grand Canyon South Rim) 200 km / 130 mi
Today, perhaps America's greatest natural wonder is on the agenda: the Grand Canyon. You'll drive along Highway 64, stopping at the viewpoints and letting your gaze glide over the massive canyon – a panorama that will make you feel quiet. The route ends in Page, where Lake Powell sparkles in the evening light. Breathtaking sunsets included.
Day 6 – Page → Bluff 200 km / 124 mi
In the morning, a must-see program awaits you: Antelope Canyon. This play of light, color and shadow in the narrow sandstone canyons of the Navajo Nation is simply magical. Afterward, continue your journey past the reddish rock formations of the Painted Desert and the legendary Monument Valley. Even the names sound like adventure. Arrive in Bluff, where the cozy Desert Rose Inn promises a quiet evening.
Day 7 – Bluff → Gallup 160 km / 99 mi
You're leaving Utah and heading to New Mexico. The road stretches endlessly through wide landscapes, the air is clear, the sky is big. Gallup, once an important trading center, is still characterized by Native American culture today. Handicrafts, history, stories – authentic, intense. In the evening, the day ends with a local dinner at the famous El Rancho Hotel.
Day 8 – Gallup → Lordsburg 300 km / 186 mi
A classic driving day: straightforward, wide, meditative. You glide through the endless plains of New Mexico in a steady rhythm - the motorcycle becomes part of the landscape. Lordsburg is small, but typically American: gas station, diner, glowing sunset. Simplicity that is good for you.
Day 9 – Lordsburg → Las Cruces (White Sands National Park) 190 km / 118 mi
This day is a highlight of the entire tour. The trail leads through southern New Mexico with its striking rocks and desert plateaus. The destination is the White Sands National Park – a wide, snow-white gypsum desert that looks like another world. Here you will feel absolute silence, immaculate light and the infinity of the southwest. A must on every Arizona motorcycle tour. Continue to Las Cruces for the night, with views of the Organ Mountains at sunset.
Day 10 – Las Cruces → Tucson 450 km / 280 mi
Back to Arizona: The route leads along gentle mountain ranges to the far south of the state. Tucson combines Wild West heritage with a modern art scene, Mexican influences, and hospitable atmosphere. The evening belongs to the city – street food, live music or simply enjoy the warm light over the saguaro cacti.
Day 11 – Tucson / Saguaro National Park & Tombstone Day Tour 150 km / 93 mi
A day for bikers with a sense of history and nature. In the morning: the Saguaro National Park. Between the gigantic cacti, some over 200 years old, you drive on winding roads through the original Arizona. Plan your trip to be here for sunset – when the orange light turns the cacti into silhouettes, it's one of the most magical moments of the trip. Alternatively or additionally, a trip to Tombstone is worthwhile: dusty streets, old saloons, gunslinger stories – the Wild West still lives here.
Day 12 – Tucson → Cave Creek 220 km / 137 mi
Today you will continue north to the region around Phoenix. Cave Creek is a legendary biker place: handmade burgers, small bars, music, leather vests, and conversations with like-minded people. Here you can feel what motorcycling is really about – about freedom and community, about the moment between the road and the horizon.
Day 13 – Cave Creek → Lake Havasu (City & London Bridge) 280 km / 174 mi
The landscape turns back into barren, sandy expanses. The destination is Lake Havasu City with its curious attraction – the original London Bridge, transported here stone by stone from England. The lake glistens in the sun, boats slowly pass by, and you feel like the tour could go on forever. An ideal place for the last evening on the road.
Day 14 – Lake Havasu → Las Vegas 240 km / 149
The last miles back on open highways towards Las Vegas. Once again desert, rocks, sun, the sound of the machine. Back in the city, you drop off your bike - with the feeling of having experienced the real southwest. 14 days you'll never forget.
