Self-guided Tour – Bike & Hotels
Route 66 – West
Western Route 66
from Grapevine, Tx to Santa Monica, CA
On this section of the world-famous Route 66, you will travel on the original Route 66, also known as the "Main Road of America" or "Mother Road". It is 2800 km long and crosses two time zones and 4 states: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico , Arizona and ends in California . Route 66 was and is the path of migrants, dreamers, villains and an entire generation of travelers who discovered the far west. The 50s were glorious times for Route 66, when thousands of cars drove bumper to bumper to experience the western border. Hotels, motels, gas stations, classic restaurants and the "new" America were everywhere. Many classics of Route 66, such as gas stations, restaurants, and nostalgic sights have been preserved. The famous and nostalgic Route 66 is a road built in heaven for motorcycle touring. Simply put, this is THE tour of tours in America.
