Croatia –

Cruise on two wheels

A Croatian cruise with a difference: A week under the Croatian sun. Anyone who has already vacationed in this country is more than aware of its beauty and would love to see the roads and sights from a different perspective. For all new travelers to Croatia: This country is amazing! And on top of that, you get the mix of sea and motorcycle trips that make this travel package something truly special.

Day 1: Saturday, the arrival day for the Croatia cruise on two wheels
Even during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the "spa town of Abbazia" was one of the Adriatic's most fashionable seaside resorts and still delights visitors today with its beautiful parks and Art Nouveau buildings. If you'd like to arrive by car and motorcycle trailer, no problem! We can reserve secure parking near the harbor. Embarkation takes place in the early afternoon, and the rest of the afternoon can be used for an exploratory tour or just a short stroll into the nearby center of Opatija. Dinner together and the first night on board.

Day 2, Sunday: Opatija – Rab 200 km
We leave our ship and the charming town of Opatija and drive south past Rijeka along the Croatian coastal road "Jadranska Magistrala." Near Senj, we make our first detour into the Croatian hinterland and the Velebit Nature Park. Here, we are surprised for the first time by how dramatically the landscape changes within just a few kilometers. We are also looking forward to the first fantastic winding stretch of mountain road with its many curves and several hairpin bends until we reach the main road again. Afterwards, we take the car ferry across the Velebit Channel to Rab. Overnight in Rab.

Day 3 Monday: Rab – Zadar 190 km
We take the car ferry back to the mainland and follow the coastal road to Karlobag, where we make our second detour into the hinterland and over the mountains. We cruise along a well-maintained country road up to almost 950 m above sea level (we start at 0 m!), which is already the first highlight of the day! On this day trip, we cross the Velebit Nature Park northwards and are amazed by the changing landscape once we pass through the mountains. On the way back, we face a few more bends as we head towards our destination for today: Zadar lies on a narrow peninsula on the Adriatic Sea and the Zadar Canal, separated from the mainland by a moat. The harbor is located directly next to the culturally and historically significant old town.

Day 4 Tuesday: Zadar – Pag-Mandre 110 km
Today we'll take a leisurely and peaceful day to relax. After a short detour to the island of Vir, we'll cross the bridge from the mainland to the island of Pag and cross halfway across the island to our overnight port: Mandre. We'll board our ship for a lovely afternoon cruise along the coast of Pag to enjoy the atmosphere and fresh air of the Adriatic coast. If you like, you can grab your swimsuit and swim a lap around the boat during a stop!

Day 5 Wednesday: Pag – Krk 240 km
Well rested, we set off on the longest leg of the journey: We cross the bridge from Pag back to the mainland once more and then follow the entire main road from the southern end of the Velebit Channel up to the bridge that connects the island of Krk to the mainland. Almost 150 km of winding roads along one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world! We'll remember this day for a long time. After crossing the Krk Bridge, we drive directly to the harbor of the town that bears the same name as the island: Krk.

Day 6, Thursday: Krk – Cres – Rabac 180 km
Have you ever island-hopped by motorcycle? Today we'll visit three islands! From Krk (1), we'll take a car ferry to Cres (2), the longest of the islands in the Kvarner Bay. At lunchtime, we'll stop for a break in a small fishing village on the island of Lošinj (3). Afterwards, we'll return to Cres and take another car ferry to Istria, the large peninsula in western Croatia. Overnight in the port of Rabac.

Day 7 Friday: Rabac – Opatija 140 km
We've saved one of the biggest highlights for the last day: If you like medieval castles and towns, you'll definitely get your money's worth today! We'll move away from the coast again and head straight into the heart of the Istrian hinterland, to Pazin, the capital of Istria County. After a stop with a view of the Mitterburg Castle, first mentioned in the 10th century, our route continues to Buzet, Istria's truffle capital.
The old town of Buzet is perched on a hilltop and is home to one of Istria's most famous truffle restaurants. Those who like can indulge in truffles for lunch here. The highlight (in the truest sense of the word) is the crossing of the Učka Mountains, to which Opatija owes its evening coolness thanks to the downdrafts from the lushly forested slopes. Tight switchbacks lead us back to the Opatija Riviera, which we follow for the last few kilometers to our starting point, the port of Opatija. Last night together in Opatija.

Day 8 Saturday: Disembarkation
Farewells and departure. Sadly, our extraordinary journey comes to an end today. After breakfast, we disembark the ship and head home with many new memories and new friends.

Additional nights in Opatija are possible upon request!

Route changes for the motorcycle tour and the ship's route are expressly reserved, especially due to weather conditions! Furthermore, the ship's captain reserves the right to change the route in the event of adverse weather conditions.
