Eagle Rider Guided Motorcycle Tour - 12 Days
Sturgis Motorcycle Tour – from Salt Lake City to Sturgis
It's biker paradise… Every year, Sturgis' Main Street transforms into a sea of motorcycles, leather, denim – and people. Since 1938, Sturgis has welcomed motorcycle fans from all over the USA and the world to the annual motorcycle rally. Starting from this small community in the northern Black Hills, the rally officially lasts seven days in August. Anyone who has been there once immediately understands why this event is a must-see for so many bikers. The roar of the engines, the smell of exhaust fumes and the glitter of the sun on the chrome – all of this makes the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally an unforgettable experience.
1.Tag: Salt Lake City
Welcome to Salt Lake City, the high-altitude capital of Utah, surrounded by the saline Great Salt Lake and the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Range. The 10-hectare Temple Square in the city center, headquarters of the Mormon Church, is home to the majestic 19th-century Salt Lake Temple as well as other historic buildings. Explore the many museums and historic theaters or immerse yourself in the world-class shopping and dining district of City Creek Center – a unique shopping experience with a retractable roof and a creek flowing through the grounds. In the evening you will meet your tour guide and your passengers and learn more about the upcoming tour!
2.Day: Salt Lake City – Jackson – Trip kilometer: approx.430km
Today we're picking up our motorcycles and heading north through the spectacular canyons of Utah and the farmland of Idaho. We cruise along the shores of Bear Lake and follow the winding Snake River to the spectacular mountain town of Jackson in Wyoming. Jackson is one of the most famous and exclusive ski resorts in the United States and is home to extensive cattle ranches, celebrity estates, and free-roaming herds of buffalo. Tonight we enjoy the lively nightlife of Jackson Hole.
3.Day: Jackson – Cody – via Yellowstone National Park – Trip kilometer: approx. 380km
Today we're spending the day winding our way through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks! The spectacular Grand Teton rises 2,134 m above the valley floor to a height of 4,200 m. We're cruising through this park and on into Yellowstone, where we'll stop to see the most famous geyser of all in action – Old Faithful! From there, we spend the day experiencing the region's extraordinary wildlife, admiring the majestic Yellowstone Falls and the Yellowstone Grand Canyon, before heading down to the town of Cody, Wyoming. Founded in the 1880s by Buffalo Bill Cody, it has retained the flair of the Wild West to this day. Walk to the historic Irma Hotel to see the famous shootout spectacle, or visit the local Cody Rodeo to experience cowboys hunching Broncos and bulls. This is the Wild West!
4.Day: Cody – Sheridan – Trip kilometer: approx.235km
When we leave Cody this morning, we will drive east towards the wild landscapes of the Bighorn Mountains. Deep canyons, winding roads, vast expanses of red-tinted rocks, open ranches and the occasional herd of wild mustangs characterize this part of our drive as we traverse the Bighorns and the land of the Crow Indians before arriving in Sheridan, Wyoming, for the night.
5.Day: Sheridan – Rapid City – via Devil's Tower – Trip kilometer: approx. 440km
Today's drive takes us through the Powder River Basin in the Great Plains. This area lies between the Bighorn Mountains and the Black Hills and was the scene of one of the largest wars of the Lakota Sioux against the US Army, led by the warrior Red Cloud in 1866–1868. Just before we drive to South Dakota, we make a stop at Devil's Tower – a massive rock that rises almost 300 meters above the plain. Take some cool photos here before we finally dive into what everyone's been waiting for – The Sturgis Experience!

10.Day: Rapid City-Cheyenne- Trip kilometer: approx. 463km
We're sleeping a little longer today and won't leave until late in the morning after a nice breakfast. The good news is that we begin our journey to Cheyenne with one last drive through the Black Hills of South Dakota. The route to Cheyenne is just as beautiful as all the day trips we have enjoyed over the last four days. Tonight we can expect real cowboy hospitality and some of the best steaks in all of Wyoming.
11.Day: Cheyenne – Denver – via Estes Park – Trip kilometer: approx. 248km
The last leg of our journey may not be long, but it is definitely unforgettable. We take one last drive through the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado before slowly returning to city life, which for the past nine days seemed a million miles away. Tonight we will celebrate together and raise a glass to the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for most motorcyclists, while simply toasting „Sturgis“.
