Day 3 – Highway 50 – Ely – Nevada 360 km
Your luggage will be loaded into the support vehicle in the morning, and then you'll be off! You'll pick up your motorcycles from our local rental partner. Today you'll leave Las Vegas heading north. You'll follow Highways 93 and 318 through the desert, famous for the Silver State Classic race, one of the fastest road races in the USA. In the afternoon, you'll reach the old Western town of Ely. Here, one of the largest active gold mines in the USA is still located. You'll follow Highway 50 for a short distance. This highway is also known as "The Loneliest Highway in the USA" and was the main route of the famous Pony Express service. You'll spend the night at the historic Hotel Nevada.

Day 4Great Salt Lake – Salt Lake City – Utah 475 km
You leave Ely in the morning and follow the vast landscape to Wendover, where you enter the state of Utah. Wendover is the starting point for exploring the Bonneville Flats and the Great Salt Lake, famous for the annual BUB Speed Trial (a speed record competition). In the early afternoon, you'll visit the Mormon Temple District in the capital city of Salt Lake City. You'll then travel along the winding Heritage Highway to reach your overnight stop in Ogden.

Day 5 – Heritage Highway – Wyoming – Jackson 400 km
You'll start your journey north in the morning, following the scenic Heritage Highway. The vast landscape offers a glimpse into what life on the wagon trails must have been like in the 19th century. In the afternoon, you'll catch sight of the imposing Grand Tetons mountain range, part of the Rocky Mountains. You'll reach Wyoming, where you'll spend the night in the Jackson area.

Day 6 – Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Park – Cody 390 km
Today, you'll set off early, following the scenic route through Grand Teton National Park with its majestic mountain scenery, and then reach Yellowstone National Park by mid-morning. Just in time for lunch, the world-famous Old Faithful Geyser is on the agenda, before continuing along Firehole Canyon Road and past many other attractions into the western and eastern sections of the park. With a bit of luck, you might spot one of the buffalo herds that call this place home. In the late afternoon, you'll cross Buffalo Bill State Park and arrive in the old Western town of Cody. How about a real rodeo this evening, or a visit to the Hotel Irma, which Bill built for his daughter? Overnight accommodation is in Buffalo Bill's hometown of Cody.

OUR TIP: Wild West Rodeo

Day 7 – Beartooth Highway – Red Lodge – Sheridan 460 km
In the morning, you'll head for the mountains again. You'll follow the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway and then the Beartooth Highway, known in the USA as the ultimate dream road and reaching an altitude of over 3,300 meters. You'll stop for lunch in the tranquil town of Red Lodge and, of course, visit the local Harley® dealer to pick up the appropriate T-shirt. The journey then continues along more winding scenic roads down into Bighorn Canyon State Park and on to Sheridan, where you'll spend the night.

Day 8 – Central Plaines – Devils Tower – Sturgis – Rapid City 470 km
Today's leg of the journey takes you through the central plains of Wyoming, all the way to South Dakota. This easily navigable connecting route leads you to Wyoming's iconic landmark, Devils Tower National Monument. Many stories surround this granite monolith in the heart of the vast landscape. In the afternoon, you'll reach Main Street in Sturgis, home to the world's largest motorcycle rally, attracting up to one million visitors each year. You'll have the opportunity to visit the motorcycle museum there before continuing on to the Keystone area, where you'll spend the next four nights.

Day 9 – Mt. Rushmore – Custer State Park – Crazy Horse Memorial – Sturgis 270 km
From your hotel in Keystone, you can reach one of the Black Hills' iconic landmarks, Mount Rushmore, with its four presidents' heads carved in stone, in just a few minutes. After a brief photo stop there, you'll continue along the Iron Mountain Road with its winding pigtails to Custer State Park. There, on the Wildlife Loop, you'll have the best chance of spotting wild bison. Passing Custer, you'll reach the next highlight: the Crazy Horse Memorial. This monument has been under construction since the 1940s. The nose of the Native American chief alone, at 20 meters high, is the size of one of the presidential heads on neighboring Mount Rushmore. The work is financed solely through donations and entrance fees. You'll arrive in Sturgis for a later lunch break, where you'll have the rest of the day at your leisure. Return to the hotel on your own. Overnight stay in the Keystone area.

Day 10 – Wall Drug – Badlands National Park – Black Hills Harley Event 340 km
In the morning, we head to Badlands National Park. Those who have seen the film "Dances with Wolves" with Kevin Costner will already be very familiar with this area. With a bit of luck, you might spot one of the buffalo herds that roam here. Beforehand, you'll visit the abandoned Longhorn Saloon in the ghost town of Scenic. Around lunchtime, you'll reach the historic town of Wall, another highlight. There, you'll visit the famous Wall drugstore and the Harley-Davidson® store. The many motorcycles you'll see here are typical of the entire region during Black Hills Bike Week. You'll then drive a short distance on the Interstate and shortly afterward arrive at the Harley-Davidson® dealership at its event grounds in Rapid City. Overnight stay in the Keystone area.

Day 11 – Day at leisure
Use the day to visit the many other highlights, such as the famous Buffalo Chip, the Full Throttle or Iron Horse Saloon, or the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame. The numerous shops also invite you to browse and buy. Enjoy the day as you wish. Overnight stay in the Keystone area.

Day 12 – Bike drop-off & flight back to Europe
In the morning, the motorcycles are returned to our rental station, followed by a shuttle transfer to Rapid City Airport and a return flight with a reputable scheduled airline (connecting flight) back to the starting point of your trip.
